Flikr Off!

I'm so irritated! I can't figure out how to get my Flikr photostream to show up on this site. I'm sure it's me, not the site. Well, coming soon......pics of my completed projects.

Some good news! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I began a new Amigurumi project yesterday. My children love to watch the cartoon Peep on TLC and I've always thought the characters would make super cute ami dolls. Soooo, I began crocheting the character Chirp first; he is the red bird in the pic. I'm half of the way done; just need to make a trip to the local craft store for some poly fill. Can't wait to see how he turns out!

Creative History

I've always felt a creativeness inside. As a very little girl I loved to sing and dance. I can remember creating talent shows with my friends for our parents to watch and entering into school talent shows. In my teens, I enjoyed participating in drill team, cheer leading and yearbook. In college I took art classes including my favorite, oil painting. After college, I took a cake decorating class, learned how to make glass beads and made jewelry. I have always managed to have my hand in something creative at all times and NOW, I'm all about crocheting!

My good friend turned me on to crocheting about a 1.5 years ago. I was pregnant with my daughter at the time and thought this could be a good, relaxing hobby. My first project was a blanket for my husband. I went out and purchased a book filled with easy to make afghans, but it didn't turn out not to be to easy for me. After about 4 rows I was confused, irritated and gave up. Although I wasn't successful, I still loved looking at crocheted stuff, especially for my soon to arrive baby girl. While looking for items for her, I discovered Amigurumi dolls and I went nuts!

Amigurumi dolls have become an addition for me. When I first came across one it was made by a designer on Etsy, Mel Zafra. She called her creations Moomees and they were to die for! I LOVED the details that she put into them and had, had, had to learn this craft. So a couple of months, after my daughter was born, I picked up the hooks again. I started off with a scarf that turned out, well, pretty terrible, but it was a start. I then bought a pattern for an Amigurumi Bunny which I felt was pretty easy until I came to the face. I messed up on the eyes, got frustrated and put it away. I decided that I need to start off with something easy, very easy to get my feet wet. Since then I've created a turtle, a chihuahua, a flamingo, a walrus and recently a dolphin. I plan to make many more so stay tuned!!!
